Dr. Thea Zacharia holds a Bachelor of Physical and Health Education degree with a Concentration in Health Promotion from Laurentian University. To gain experience in the field of sports therapy, she volunteered as a trainer for the Laurentian Men’s Varsity basketball team for one year.
After completing her undergraduate degree, Dr. Zacharia continued her education by pursuing a four-year Doctorate of Chiropractic at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) in Toronto. While at CMCC, she continued to work with teams as well as supervising tournaments and events as a trainer.
Dr. Zacharia uses a functional, evidence-based approach to assess neuromusculoskeletal systems. She employs a variety of techniques such as spinal and extremity manipulative therapy and mobilizations, contemporary medical acupuncture, soft tissue techniques, rehabilitative exercise, and education to accelerate recovery, restore function, and reduce the risk of injury. Her aim is to help promote health with individualized care. Since 2011, her professional experience comes from working with athletes in the CIS, Toronto Rugby Union, Rugby Ontario, Rugby Nova Scotia, GTHL, OJHL, League 1 Ontario, and JUEL of Ontario.
Dr. Zacharia works with patients and athletes to reach their goals. She strongly believes that the success of each individual lies in the partnership that exists between in clinic therapy and at home recovery.
Dr. Vanessa completed her bachelor’s degree at the University of Toronto with an honors in Nutritional Science and Neuroscience. She completed research with the department of Nutrition at the University of Toronto furthering her love and knowledge of health and wellness. Dr. Vanessa obtained her Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine degree from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) in Toronto. She is in good standing with the College of Naturopaths of Ontario and is a member of the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors and the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors.
Dr. Vanessa maintains a general family practice with a focus on digestive health, women’s health, prenatal and maternal care. She was also a member of the pediatric shift during her clinical training and has gained a special interest in treating pediatric patients.
Dr. Vanessa’s goal is to educate and guide her patients so that they are able to reach their ultimate health goals. She aims to optimize her patient’s health by addressing diet, and lifestyle, among other factors, to prevent the development of disease. Dr. Vanessa uses a variety of treatment modalities including: botanical medicine, traditional Chinese medicine (acupuncture and cupping), nutritional and lifestyle counselling. She always takes an evidence based approach to her treatments and individualizes her plans to her patients needs.
